We are all born with a set of unconscious behavior patterns that psychologists call archetypes. We may be unaware when an archetype is influencing – positively or negatively – the way we relate to the people and situations in our lives.
An archetype is a template that holds energy and influence that is uniquely relatable to who we are at a fundamental level, and also indicates various stages of development we are experiencing as we move through life.
There are an infinite number of archetypes that are multicultural, i.e, the Innocent, Warrior, Orphan, Caregiver, Lover, Sage, Creator, Magician to name a fundamental few. Each archetype and its shadow aspect correlates to the different stages in our developmental process. Using the PMAI archetype indicator as a tool, this process will help you identify the different and sometimes contradictory themes that have shaped your life stories. Being aware of the archetypes we are living allows us to cultivate and integrate them to create a richer and more satisfying life.
